Knowledge Channel recognized the selfless sacrifice and unwavering passion of all Filipino teachers through various activities and initiatives in celebration of the 2022 National Teachers’ Month (NTM).

“This year’s celebration had greater significance in light of the challenges our Filipino teachers faced during the pandemic. Despite the heavy restrictions, they remained in the frontline ensuring the continuity of learning and supporting the well-being of all their students,” said Rina Lopez, president and executive director of Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc.

The month-long celebration kicked off with a motivational power talk at the Manila International Book Fair (MBFI) where Rina emphasized that hard work and effort are keys to success in a growth mindset-directed life, eagerly sharing that the secret to life is effort.

She highlighted the role of teachers in instilling a growth mindset among children in learning and education. “When teachers have a growth mindset, they teach their students that failure is not an end result, but the beginning of a journey of self-improvement,” she added.

Following the power talk is a series of content and programs dedicated to reach all Filipino teachers and public schools nationwide.

In a special video tribute “Mga Guro, Dangal Kayo ng Sambayanang Pilipino” posted on Facebook, celebrity hosts Robi Domingo, Bianca Gonzalez and social media influencers Lyqa Maravilla, Teacher Precious Gamboa and Michelle Agas expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the dedication of all Filipino teachers.

Together with ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya, KCFI handed over the Portable Media Library and provided food packs and smile masks to students from Cuyambay Elementary School in Tanay, Rizal. Almost 200 kilometers away, thanks to Subic EnerZone Corporation the Special Education Center for the Gifted (SPED-G) in Olongapo City also received the Knowledge Channel TV and Portable Media Library with educational materials that are accessible anytime, anywhere.

Meanwhile, through its existing partnership with BDO and Huawei, KCFI held a three-day virtual training focused on capacity-building and enhancement of teaching skills to address the challenges and harness the opportunities of hybrid learning for the 149 public school teachers from 10 schools in Dasmariñas City.

Capping off the month-long celebration was the launch of KCFI and Breeze’s EcoProject Year 2: Kilos Kabataan Para sa Kapaligiran campaign for environmental awareness and building eco-habits to a new batch of 17,000 students, teachers, and parents from the Schools Division Office of Taguig City and Pateros.

Since 1999, KCFI has been at the forefront of efforts to improve K-12 education and learning outcomes through the creation of relevant and engaging multimedia learning resources and the delivery of training for the professional development of educators.
