When I was on my teenage days, my sisters and I enjoyed watching Korean drama series and movies until dawn : “Coffee Prince“, “Stairway to Heaven” and “Full House” to name a few. So we were one of the first k-drama fans that time.
And while dining at Papa Kim’s Korean Bakery & Coffee last weekend reminds me one of one of my favorite k-drama and that’s – Coffee Prince. This k-drama always reminds me of my greatest dream – to be a barista and own a coffee shop someday.
What I love about Papa Kim’s Korean Bakery & Coffee? It brings Korean Bakery in the Metro! And their menu is complete! From Korean rice bowls, sandwiches, famous Korean breads, cakes and their famous Korean dessert – BINGSU.
They also offer wide selection of beverages – of course they have coffees (hot or iced), frappes, blended, milk tea and teas. Dining while k-drama or k-pop songs are playing? Seriously, what’s not to love?
On our table. We ordered for their best sellers : Creamy Shrimp Pesto for MrsEnero, Beef Bulgogi RIce Bowl for Mr. Enero, Beef Bulgogi Sandwich for Lana and Korean Spicy Chicken Rice Bowl for Jherson (Lonely Travelogue). Their Rice Bowls comes with a free Iced Tea, my sister and I ordered for an additional Mango Juice for us. Our top choice : Korean Spicy Chicken Rice Bowl – indeed a must try.
ROUND Two! On our dessert table. What’s for desserts? So before we try for our favorite bingsu, we decided to try cakes and other pastries first. We ordered for Cream Cheese Cake and Creampuffs (plain and strawberry). Jherson ordered for Matcha Yogurt Frappe, Berry Cheesecake Frappe for Lana, Cappuccino for Mr. Enero and Candy Cane Forest Cake Frappe for me. Our favorite? CREAM CHEESE CAKE. It is not your ordinary cheesecake, no umay at all. Definitely a must try.
Another specialty of Papa Kim’s Bakery & Coffee is their unique selection of cakes, which are available in both slices and whole. Their best sellers : Blueberry Cheesecake Mouse, Fresh Cream Green Tea Cake, Choco Cream Cheesecake and our fave – Cream Cheese Cake.
And of course, we were not leaving Papa Kim’s Korean Bakery & Coffee without having our favorite BINGSU. Bingsu is composed of ice shavings and various ingredients such as sweetened condensed milk, fruit syrups, different fruits such as strawberries, kiwifruit or bananas. And the best thing about bingsu? it is often topped with ice cream or frozen yogurt.
Mr. and Mrs. Enero ordered for Mango Bingsu while Jherson and Lana ordered for Crazy Oreo Bingsu. HEAVEN in a bowl it is! Look at those yummy mangoes, that even Eliana just can’t had enough. It is so creamy and delicious. Bingsu haven has been found!
What’s a bakery without breads? You can also have a wide selection of breads which you can take home. And you know what? They offer 50% discount on breads from 9PM to 11PM. YAY!!!
And beacause #tinapayislife, these were our take-outs. I just can’t resist bringing home these freshly baked breads. If you’re following my #bentobaon series for Eliana, you should definitely know how I enjoyed preparing her simple bento baon. Seeing their Signature Bear Breads for the first time, Eliana’s #bentobaon pops up my mind instantly. I can’t resist their cuteness!
It took me time to decide what’s for takeout, I have ordered for their famous Sweet Potato bread. My favorites are Angel bread, Chocolate Cookies and their chocolate overload – Chocolate Cupcake.
Thank you Papa Kim’s Bakery & Coffee for the tummy-filled afternoon. Definitely one of my favorite bakeries. I just can’t get enough on all the foods that we have eaten and breads take-outs.
